Although born and raised in Halifax, Mike has been proud to call Norfolk County home for the past 23 years. His professional career includes experience in both the private and public sector, the bulk of his career being in public practice. Mike spent several years with a Big Four accounting firm before becoming a partner at Good Redden Klosler in 1993.
While his primary area of specialty is income tax, Mike is also well known in the local business community for his pragmatic approach to a wide range of client challenges. Mike has taken on the overall responsibility for several of the firm’s largest clients, helping with the full gamut of issues that small businesses face. His in-depth income tax knowledge forms the solid base of his skills while also providing practical, down-to-earth advice in other areas.
For Mike, the thrill of helping clients solve problems never gets old. The majority of his clients are family run businesses which in itself can present unique challenges. Working with clients to develop practical solutions to their trickiest problems is one of the reasons why Mike loves to go to work every day. He is grateful for the opportunity to have helped so many businesses over the years.
Mike lives in Simcoe with his wife, Beth. They are both active in the community and are supporters of many local causes. In Mike’s spare time, he can be found at the gym, walking his golden retriever, Bailey, enjoying a glass of fine wine or planning his next travel adventure.
